NGEAL

New and Green Energy of Assam Ltd (NGEAL) is a joint venture of OTPC (51%) and APDCL (49%) for development of green and renewable energy infrastructure and to accelerate green energy transition. NGEAL is focusing on development of several renewable projects in state of Assam starting with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project to cater to the peak energy requirements of the state. JV Agreement was signed between OTPC & APDCL on 1st June 2023 for development of Renewable Energy including BESS with total capacity of 250 MW / 500 MWH (in phased manner). 1st phase capacity deployment is aimed at 50 MW / 100-200 MWH and is to be set up at Mirza Substation of AEGCL.

Our Shareholders

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited

A public limited company wholly owned by the Government of Assam. It was incorporated on the 23rd day of October 2009 and has been registered under Indian Companies Act 1956.
The main purpose of forming the Company was to take over, manage and operate the electricity distribution system, assets, liabilities, undertaking of the erstwhile Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) pursuant to a notified transfer scheme in terms of Part XIII of the Electricity Act, 2003.
The primary purpose of the Company is to undertake distribution, trading and supply of electricity in the state of Assam or outside in accordance with provisions of Applicable Law and all activities ancillary or appurtenant thereto. It has also the mandate to develop, maintain and operate the power distribution system in the state of Assam.

A joint venture company of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL), India Infrastructure Fund- II (wholly owned subsidiary of Global Infrastructure management LLC) and Government of Tripura (GoT) that has developed and operates the 726.6 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) thermal power plant at Palatana, Tripura. The first block (363.3 MW) of the power plant was declared under Commercial Operation from 4th January, 2014 and the second block (363.3 MW) of the two blocks was declared under Commercial Operation from 24th March 2015. The company is successfully supplying power to the seven beneficiary states of North East India.
